Turkey in Barnyard Drawing

A turkey appears to be in charge of the barnyard in this public domain bird drawing. Standing tall over a cat, ducks and other birds, this tom turkey sure is the star of this vintage drawing.

I always love finding books illustrated by Harrison Weir (1824-1906) because I know it will contain a number of great drawings. This one from 1877 was no exception. It was included in the children’s book Lily’s Screen.
