This vintage letter image truly does justice to the title Fancy Letter A. A trellis-like form is used to create the letter A and upon the branches grow a plethora of leaves on branching vines. It is larger than most of our letter images and would need just the right work to really make good use of it and not let it overpower whatever you place around it on the page.
I’m so happy I found Hill’s Album of Biography and Art. It is unclear whether the illustrations are the work of the author. But what is clear is that this large 1882 children’s book by Thomas E. Hill was full of wonderful illustrations.
