Vintage amblypoda skeleton drawing from a 1911 encyclopedia.
What’s an amblypoda you might ask? I asked it too.
It’s an animal believed to have lived during the Eocene Period in North America and Europe. The Eocene Period began 56 million years ago and ended 33.9 million years ago. They were plant eaters that looked a bit like a hippopotamus. They generally grew to 6 feet in length and they had 44 teeth.
