This vintage image is from one of the many wonderful children’s books from the publishing firm Blackie & Son of Glasgow. It was included in their 1883 work A Box of Stories: Packed for Young Folks.
Three separate illustrations have been included in this vintage black and white border. While not quite as clear as some of the other borders that include other artwork, this border would be great as is or with your own images or photos in the medallions. A simple crosshatch pattern surrounds the dog and hares and some delicate branches with berries join everything together.
