Three separate illustrations are added to this black and white border. The owl image takes center stage and is surrounded by a drawing of a cat and another drawing with a trio of rats or mice. Some delicate branches bring the three images together and the entire thing is surrounded by what looks like a block print design. Overall, this vintage border image is quite unusual and would make a fine addition to your next project. Additionally the owl image is of a quality where it could be used on it’s own.
This vintage image is from one of the many wonderful children’s books from the publishing firm Blackie & Son of Glasgow. It was included in their 1883 work A Box of Stories: Packed for Young Folks.
