Goat like creatures and a pair of griffins feature in this vintage page spacer and border image. Hiding among the vines, leaves and flowers, at first glance the two goats look like flowers and the pair of griffins hide at the bottom of this public domain vignette image.
The publishers of Melcomb Manor, Pott, Young and Company; identified Kate Greenaway (1846-1901) for this 1875 work. However, I suspect this drawing was from a print foundry that the publishers purchased and used in a number of their publications.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
