A dream come’s to life in this unique zoo drawing. Instead of people visiting the zoo and viewing the animals in cages, the elephant, lion, giraffe, camel, stork and bears look at people of all ages in cages. Instead of seeing bears climb a tree, a group of bears are watching a person climb a tree. This mixed animal, zoo picture is certain to make a unique addition to your next creative project.
This is one of the few drawings where Harper’s Young People identified the arits. In this case it was Frederick Stuart Church (1842-1924). It was included in the November 25, 1879, edition of this magazine.
