Colored drawing of a saddled horse and dog. This horse and dog drawing was part of a larger book plate which included a variety of other images including a cluster of red roses. The horse and dog in this animal image are pictured in front of a stone and iron gate. The white horse has a black mane and the dog is a mixture of black, white, and brown.
Thomas E. Hill must have spent years writing his book Hill’s Album of Biography and Art. It was published in 1882 with hundreds of wonderful illustrations and what appear to be stock print foundry images. Over 200 of them can be found here on Reusable Art.
