Giraffe Drawings
If you ever get the chance to get up close and personal with a giraffe, you really should take advantage of it. I was lucky enough to visit a small family zoo where they fed the giraffes in a hut that could be looked into from one of the walking paths. You could literally be eyeball to eyeball with them. It was something I will never forget. Nor will I forget their huge black tongue or their terribly bad, bad breath. Despite being looked at all the time, they seemed as curious about us as we were about them.
While it can be hard to convey through giraffe drawings, even ones as nice as those I’ve included here, these animals are massive. They are the tallest creatures to walk the earth – they measure up to 20 feet tall and weigh, on average 1,830 pounds (the females) and 3,500 pounds (the males). That means a large male can easily weigh more than the family car, unless of course you drive a Hummer or something equally grand.
