I’ve never developed a taste for beets but that doesn’t stop me from admiring their pretty red fruit. This vintage vegetable image does look a bit off color-wise but I’m hoping someone will find a great new home for it.
This drawing includes the entire beet root plant (yes, that is the name, we just call them beets for short) including the beet, some untrimmed roots and the greens. Did you know that many folks think the leaves are far tastier than the vegetable itself?
This vintage vegetable drawing was included in Lessons From the Vegetable World which was published in 1858.
