Another of our great vintage decorative bird images, this page decoration would make a great addition where you need a page accent that is both dark and light at the same time. A bird with open wings looks ready to pounce on a juicy berry amongst the scroll-work type leaves in this vintage image that looks a great deal like a modern rubber stamp.
This vintage image and page spacer was included in The Book of Brave Old Ballads from 1879. It appears to be the work of a print foundry, rather than the artist who illustrated the book – John Gilbert (1817-1897).
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
