A little owl sits in the middle of this vintage vignette. This bird border and page spacer also has an urn or trophy above the little owl and some flourishes and leaves. It’s in the public domain, so you can use it as it is now or edit it to include just pieces of the original.
When Alfred H. Engelbach’s book was published in 1878, Engelbach did not identify an illustrator. Many of the images were probably purchased from a print foundry to be used with The King’s Warrant A Story of Old and New France.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
