Tis a shame that so many vintage books used black and white images due to the high costs of color printing. This painting of a pair of Baltimore orioles is quite beautiful but unfortunately does not show the beautiful coloring of these birds. Another of our copyright free bird images, this pair of orioles might be the exact image scrapbookers and other artists are looking for.
This was included in the 17th edition of Bird Stories from Burroughs published in 1911. It included this wonderful bird drawing from the noted artist Louis Agassiz Fuertes (1874-1927).
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
