Black and white drawing of an adult bustard bird. These large ground birds are unfortunately facing extinction in some parts of the world. The irony is that these birds will take advantage of their speed by running from predators and by abandoning their nests are a major part of their decline.
The Zoo from 1895 is full of wonderful bird drawings by the artist Harrison Weir (1824-1906), including this one.
