The king and queen of the birds site regally in their crowns. This black and white image is one of many wonderful art-deco period illustrations that looks quite similar to today’s clip art. As the king and queen site perched among the apples, what could they be discussing? Perhaps, they are wondering who will download their image and what wonderful ways they will be incorporated into works of art.
This is another wonderful example of the work of Dugald Stewart Walker (1883-1937). It was included in the 1918 book The Boy Who Knew What the Birds Said.
