A chipper-looking bird sits on a small branch. This public domain bird image can be used however you wish. It is one of several charming images from the illustrator Catherine Douglas Bell (d. 1861) that was included in the 1853 children’s book Cousin Kate and Cousin Mary’s First Book of Stories.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
