Harrison Weir (1824-1906) and his wife loved cats. In fact, he founded the National Cat Club in 1887. In 1892, he published the book from which this black cat face drawing appeared. It was called Our Cats and All About Them.
This black cat face seems like it would be perfect on a Halloween card or project. That’s why I’ve included him here instead of the black and white cat drawings section of Reusable Art.
I think this fellow is so interesting. One look and he’s a bit spooky. Another look and he’s a whole lot cute. And, the way Weir drew its neck, it almost looks as if it is wearing a white scarf. Either way, I think he would be fun for Halloween.
