While this bronze shield drawing was not actually used as a page spacer, I thought it fit in this category better than any other. I think this black and white drawing would make an awesome background image for a larger project. With the subtle shading already in place and the rows of little rivets, it looks like a design more so than a piece of battle equipment. Hopefully, someone will find this image useful. Perhaps in a similar way that I envisioned. Please let me know what you opt to do with it. Then we could share your creative idea with everyone.
James Drummond did not identify the artists who illustrated his book Highland Targets and Other Shields but we sure are lucky the 1873 work included such useful pieces like this one.
