At first glance, this bouquet looks like it is sitting in a basket. Look a little closer and you’ll see that the basket is actually made out of fern leaves and the handle is made from a curved branch. This natural bouquet is full of several different kinds of flowers and even has a few flowers twined around the natural handle. I think this bouquet drawing would make for a great inspiration for table flowers at a wedding. Wouldn’t something like this make for a great conversation piece?
I’m so happy I found Hill’s Album of Biography and Art. It is unclear whether the illustrations are the work of the author. But what is clear is that this large 1882 children’s book by Thomas E. Hill was full of wonderful illustrations.
