This drawing is fun. A bouquet of flowers are displayed in a vase which reminds me of a bee hive. And, the two little curls at the base of the vase probably couldn’t exist in real life but in the world of illustration, they provide a perfect balance to the wonderful shapes of the flowers and leaves in the vase.
Thomas E. Hill made quite an ambitious work when he wrote Hill’s Album of Biography and Art in 1882. He did not indicate whether the artwork is from his own hand, another artist or primarily from print foundries.
