It goes without saying that dogs are one of the creatures we share this Earth with that become very attached to us humans. From being faithful companions that cheer us up when we’re low to risking their own lives to save ours – they are truly special animals. This vintage black and white drawing features a heroic dog saving a child from drowning. Throughout history our canine companions have protected their humans. While I don’t wish that anyone has had to experience such a sacrifice by their fur-friend, I do hope someone can make use of this dramatic drawing.
Thomas E. Hill must have spent years writing his book Hill’s Album of Biography and Art. It was published in 1882 with hundreds of wonderful illustrations and what appear to be stock print foundry images. Over 200 of them can be found here on Reusable Art.
