Charming little portrait of a dog. This dog portrait is only in black and white and somewhat small but I think that just makes this dog image all the more useful. How soulful his little eyes look. So much expression from a picture drawn with simple lines that could carved from a block and used to print this image in a book over 100 years ago.
Thomas E. Hill must have spent years writing his book Hill’s Album of Biography and Art. It was published in 1882 with hundreds of wonderful illustrations and what appear to be stock print foundry images. Over 200 of them can be found here on Reusable Art.
