This black and white flower drawing was identified as Flor del Espiritu Santo or Flower of the Holy Spirit. While it is was not mentioned how the flower came to be named this way, it is a lovely white flower and this drawing is quite lovely and could be used easily anywhere you might need a long-stemmed flower image.
This image and a number of others are from the 1885 work The Boy Travellers in South America. The author, Thomas Wallace Knox (1835-1896), did not identify an illustrator.
