A trio of children appear to be gossiping near an old well. One child seems to be telling the other two something shocking as they all visit an old wooden well. One carries a water pitcher, one a tub of apples and the other is carrying a shepherd’s crook. The image is fairly large at 473 pixels tall by 524 pixels wide. It is in the public domain and ready for downloading.
Under the Window is one of the many children’s books which contained illustrations by Kate Greenaway (1846-1901). It was published in 1879.
