A young girl walks along a path on her way to the village school. With her slate safely tucked under her arm, this girl looks fully prepared for a day of learning. Going to school always seemed like such an adventure. Most days the adventure was good, some days not as much. But, any day I learned something new was always a bit more on the positive side of things.
This drawing is another fine example of the work of Ida Waugh (d.1919). It appeared in The Proud Little Lady from 1880.
