This vintage print comes from the Godey’s fashion magazine in 1860. Women across America waited for each issue to bring them examples of the latest trends for fashionable ladies. This print displays several examples of Civil War era fashions. Wide bell-like skirts, snug bodices and large sleeves appear to be the only thing the dresses have in common.
The white, lace-edged sleeves are exceptionally wide. Each of the dresses appear to have varying amounts of white lace around the collar. Four of the women are wearing lacy bonnets but the fifth has a straw hat decorated with flowers.
