A scruffy dog out in the snow looks through a doorway at a pampered pet dog laying on a bed in front of a warm stove. This image could be used for a number of metaphors or to campaign for people to adopt strays from area rescue societies and pounds.
There’s just something so charming about the work of Ida Waugh (d.1919). It was use to illustrate Holly Berries which was published in 1881.
