Looking for a fancy turkey drawing or great image to use with Thanksgiving? This shimmery fellow might be just what you need.
Turkey by Ellen H. Clapsaddle
Ellen H. Clapsaddle (1865-1934) is perhaps one of the most famous illustrators from the Golden Age of Postcards. The International Art Publishing Co. Ltd. of New York published most of her work. They used a printing frim in Germany. Some say she created 3-4,000 different designs which appeared on 1/2 billion cards.
Fancy Turkey Drawing
What makes this turkey so fancy is that he glitters. Look at the larger size of the image, we’ve shared. He is covered with thousands of little beads, including some that shimmer like gems. So cool. This is like a two-fer. You get a wonderful Clapsaddle drawing and it’s covered in bling too.
Mr. Turkey was on a vintage Thanksgiving Day postcard. I’ve repaired him a little bit to remove a blue border and isolated him so you could use him in your own creative works. The rest of the card was pretty plain and Mr. Turkey deserved to be the star of the show.
