It might be dangerous, it might be risky but fishing for love just might land you the catch of your life. Not sure if it instills a great deal of confidence if the one fishing for love is Cupid, but this sketch-like drawing by Oliver Herford (1863-1935) would make a great Valentine’s Day card.
Perched upon a Danger sign warning of thin ice, Cupid dangles a fishing hook baited with a heart over a break in the ice. Curly hair, wings and cute little toes tell us the cute little imp on the sign is indeed Cupid. Will he find the love he seeks and is it for you or for me?
