What makes this vintage, black and white vignette even more functional is that it matches another floral vignette from this book. When Alfred H. Engelbach’s book was published in 1878, Engelbach did not identify an illustrator. Many of the images were probably purchased from a print foundry to be used with The King’s Warrant A Story of Old and New France.
