Flower Head Drawing

Some of the prettiest drawings are also some of the simplest. This flower head drawing was used by an old encyclopedia to explain the congeries of flowers, bracts and involucres. I’ll leave it to you if that science stuff is something you would like to learn more. But, I will tell you that it is the underside of a marigold.

For the rest of us, let’s just enjoy this pretty black and white flower image. Think about how you could incorporate it into a collage. Maybe pair it with a pretty full-color flower? Maybe add your own color to coordinate with your a larger project.

No matter how you envision using this public domain flower head drawing, you should visit the image file by clicking on the flower below – it will bring you to a larger version than what you see here.
