I found this vintage frame image in the book Catalogue d’ouvrages sur l’histoire de l’Am‚rique et en particulier sur celle du Canada. It was the only artwork in the entire book from 1837. I would guess a print foundry provided it to the publisher.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
