This light frame image reminds me of the Aztecs and Latin American design. It was originally used as a page spacer with text but I think it would be even better when used to surround an image or use one side of the frame to add some space between elements of a web page.
Thomas E. Hill published Hill’s Album of Biography and Art in 1882. It included a number of wonderful illustrations and stock print foundry images.
