Vintage drawing of a little girl dressed in white carrying a bouquet of red roses. With her blue straw hat and little blue shoes, this little cutie looks ready for a formal event. Rows of ruffles and lace decorate her skit and over skirt and a large bow adorns the back of the dress. Her little blue shoes are adorned with blue flowers as is her hat.
Kate Greenaway (1846-1901) was one of the most influential illustrators or her era. Her work can be found in many children’s books, including Under the Window, the 1879 work which included this illustration.
