So, how cute is this vintage Easter greeting with a hatching Easter basket? A cherubic little girl has collected the day’s eggs. But, as she carries those eggs back home, they are hatching. Seemingly unaware of the escaping chicks, the little girl continues on her way. Hopefully, the egg that has fallen from her apron will also hatch rather than just break and go to waste.
This is another of the wonderful Easter greeting cards from the National Library of Norway. They are identifying this charming postcard as being in the public domain. Even without a scan of the back or an artist’s signature, I think we’re safe taking their word for that.
The original had a message of Grædelig Paaske. I thought removing it would make this vintage holiday image more useful. You could always add it back or add your own Easter greeting.
The library has been so generous by sharing a huge version of this hatching Easter basket vintage Easter card. It’s too big to include here but you can grab it by clicking on the charming picture above.
