The lone worker bee. Her life dedicated to serving her queen. These infertile female bees are among the earliest developed offspring of the queen. They tend the eggs and build the hive. Without them, there would be no yummy honey. So, today, we celebrate the honeybee worker bee.
Insect drawings like this one from the 1911 Encyclopedia are great. The black and white allows for a bit more detail – just look at the wonderful furry legs and torso on this one. I hope you can make good use of it.
