Can you just imaging how tiring it must have been to iron clothes with these cast iron irons? First you had to heat it up on the stove and then you pressed your garments and linens. Thankfully, nowadays we only see old fashioned irons being used as home decor and door stops. And, we’ll hopefully be seeing this iron image put to good use in someone’s creative work. It is from the December 23, 1879 edition of Harper’s Young People.
