If your name starts with the letter L or maybe you want to decorate a paragraph that starts with one, this L with vines and berries might just be the solution. It was used to decorate a book of poetry that was published in 1878. Since it is over 120 years old and not attributed to a particular artist, we know it’s in the public domain. It was most likely sold be a print foundry and used by a number of different publishing houses.
This letter L image is a bit on the smaller side but the print was fairly clean and the scan is quite nice. A dark, capital letter L is decorated with vines, leaves and berries. Add a bit of green to the leaves and maybe some red or pink to the berries and you could create a new version of this letter L image.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
