Vintage drawing of a bamboo arch used as a leafy border. This public domain border image could be used alone, as a pair or grouped around all four sides of an image. This interesting staircase like bamboo border was originally used as part of a chapter heading which incorporated several other designs and images.
Hill’s Album of Biography and Art is a wonderful vintage book by Thomas E. Hill. It was published in 1882. It was absolutely stuffed full of great illustrations. Some appear to be original to this book and I have spotted some in other publications of this period, which would seem to mean they were either used by the publisher in multiple works or they were print foundry images.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
