The letter I was one of the letters most frequently used as a drop cap in the vintage materials I have worked with. This letter I design makes the 43rd fancy letter I image that I have added to Reusable Art. It is from a book published in 1887 about fairy tales that used a total of 18 different letter images. How lucky for us!
All of the letters, like this letter I design, have been resized to 1.5 inches wide and about 2.8 inches tall. They are also now on a clean, white background. All of the letters in this group feature a strong black letter surrounded by a black and white border. They are decorated with twining leaves and flowers. A few of the letters have a little something extra and this letter I design is one of that group as well. Look closely and you’ll see a man’s face looking directly at the letter I.
Use one of these letters as your new monogram or logo or combine a few to make a beautifully vintage message. The letters that were included are: A, C, D, E, F, G, I, K, L, M, O, P, Q, S, T, V, W and Y.
