The year was 1887. A book full of fairytales was published. Sadly the pictures that went with the text were a bit disappointing. But, the text was decorated with 18 drop cap letters! Hurray for us. And, so many of the letters are ones that I keep hoping to find – like this letter L design. Fancy letter L images seem to be not that frequently used, but this one is a really nice one.
You can use this letter L on its own or use it in combination with the other letters to create highly decorative words. The letters are: A, C, D, E, F, G, I, K, L, M, O, P, Q, S, T, V, W and Y..
All of the letters in the set have been resized and cleaned up to measure 1.5 inches wide by about 2.8 inches tall. Leaves, flowers and vines adorn each of the letters. The letters are solid black with a black and white traced frame. Several of the letters, including this letter L design, include a little bit extra. Spot the horns on the left and the goat? The large flower has a bloom that seems to replicate the spiral horns of the goat.
