This lion drawing is just so much fun. He is making a last minute adjustment to his tartan plaid while he waits for his friend to welcome him inside. This anthropomorphic lion looks as is he knows there’s a camera looking at him and appears to be winking at it. A big smile on his face and a tail held high complete the look of a dapper gentleman making and afternoon call. Look closely and you’ll see the beak of a bird friend opening the door. Use the wonderful black and white drawing alone or the original design of someone knocking at a door.
Johnny Crow’s Garden contained so many charming drawings. They were published in 1903 and were drawn by the artist Leonard Leslie Brooke (1862-1940).
