Every get the feeling you’re being watched and examined closely? Need to add that sort of feeling to a creative project? Then this charming drawing of a curious little girl might be exactly what you need. She gently raises her skirt as she leans in towards the viewer as if to get a closer look. With her sweet little face, lace color and little hat, she is sure to charm all who see her.
The title might be 1890 Baby’s Annual Pictures and Stories for Little People but the copyright for this vintage children’s book is actually 1889. Not that it truly matters as it is now over 120 years later and D. Lothrop Company did not attribute this book to either an author or an illustrator. Which means, all of the wonderful illustrations it contained are now in the public domain.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
