Vintage drawing of a mother holding her baby. In this baby drawing, the baby looks like it might be wearing a Christening or Baptism gown. But, take the face of the baby out of the rest of the picture, and he looks like a stern middle-aged gentleman – a bit weird. The mother looks at her child as if trying to determine what the infant is thinking. One can only guess.
I love it when I find vintage materials like 1890 Baby’s Annual Pictures and Stories for Little People. It was published oh so long ago that it is now completely in the public domain. It’s too bad the original artist(s) weren’t identified but that is why this book falls under the 120 years post publication aspect of copyright law.
