A group of mice gather in a barnyard in this vintage colored drawing. This image was listed as having been published in an 1822 edition of a children’s book. It is sometimes hard to fathom with so little technology and so many years that these wonderful vintage illustrations are so well-done and are still to be found.
Catharine Parr Traill and her publisher A.K. Newman and Co. did not identify who they used to illustrate Little Downy but it was published almost 200 years ago in 1822 and is in the public domain.
