Before there was air travel, in-flight movies and iPods, all musical entertainment was live. People would gather around a piano and sing along. When Pullman designed his luxury train cars, he wanted to provide a gathering place that was like home and a place of enjoyment. This vintage drawing shows how he revolutionized travel by train by even including a salon car with a piano. People from throughout the train could gather in these cars and share a few songs together, like the group of ladies, gentleman and the little girl pictured here. I’m not really sure how someone can use this public domain music image but I do hope someone finds it useful.
