The year was 1887. The magazine was Scientific American. The December 1887 edition was dedicated to architects and builders and contained a variety of home-building and furniture-related articles, drawings and advertisements. One article included a number of new residences that had been constructed in the town of Glendridge, New Jersey. considering that 72.8% of the homes in that city were built before 1939, there’s a good chance at least one of the homes included in the magazine are still standing.
