This lovely dog drawing comes from Abbildungen naturhistorischer Gegenstände : No. 1-100, a natural history from 1810. Like so many of these wonderful encyclopedia-like works, there’s a lot of great illustrations hidden within them.
This fine Newfoundland dog drawing is the first of several I’ll be sharing with you here on Reusable Art. The markings on this dog would later be associated with Sir Edwin Henry Landseer (1802-1873). The Landseer, as they are called by some, honors the well-known animal artist.
