Oh my, it looks like we’ve found another great drop cap letter O image. This one’s a bit fancier as it takes a more common block print style publisher’s letter and adds a bit a scrollwork to create a taller and more interesting letter image.
This copyright free drop cap image was found with 11 other similar letter images which included the letters A, C, D, G, H, I, J, M, P, T and W.
This set of fancy letters were all used in the 1881 book How a Little Boy Learned to Be Wise and Good. It was written by Helen Cross Knight (1814-1906). These images are most likely from the publisher Thomas Nelson and Sons.
