Lovely landscape-oriented orchid drawing from an 1893 text about orchids. This is one of only a handful of beautiful plates that were included in the book.
This odontoglossum crispum drawing, according to one source is improperly named but I don’t think that really matters for our purposes. Some consider this genus of orchid to be among the most beautiful of all of the orchids but it can be quite difficult to grow. The specimen depicted here is one with ruffled white petals with pink and yellow accents.
We are so fortunate that the owner of this book shared large, well-formatted scans with everyone and I can then share them with you too. You can access a larger version of this Odontoglossum Crispum drawing by simply clicking on the floral image below.
